U of A hosts international researchers tackling water and climate challenges with computational innovation

The University of Arizona hosted the 2024 Computational Methods in Water Resources (CMWR) Conference from September 30 to October 3, attracting 230 participants from 26 countries. Held at the Student Union Memorial Center, the biennial event featured technical sessions and keynote talks focused on cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and water management. Bo Guo, conference chair and U of A associate professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, emphasized the importance of computational models in addressing global water challenges, from flood resilience to drought management. The conference fostered collaborations and networking opportunities, particularly benefiting graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
