In March 2025, Lowe’s and The Home Depot launched AI-powered tools to enhance customer experiences in home improvement. Lowe’s introduced “Mylow,” an AI-driven virtual advisor developed with OpenAI, offering real-time project guidance, product recommendations, and how-to advice, initially available for MyLowe’s Rewards members with plans for voice and app integration. Meanwhile, The Home Depot rolled out “Magic Apron,” a generative AI tool that provides 24/7 assistance by leveraging the company’s knowledge base and product catalog to answer project-related questions and offer tailored recommendations. Available on The Home Depot’s app and product pages, Magic Apron will soon expand to its Pro B2B site for contractor support. Both initiatives aim to bring expert in-store assistance to digital platforms, giving customers the confidence and resources needed for their home improvement projects.
